Wednesday, February 4th

Today we continued working on the tasks for our scavenger hunt. We mainly focused on sound work today, which I found particularly exciting. I learned that sound effects along with colour have a huge impact on video clips. We recorded various sounds: emergency and work and spent time ensuring that every small movement or action (e.g writing on a piece of paper) could be heard. We practiced recording sound with different microphones until we found one that worked best for us. Today I feel I was an inquirer. Adrian Wan taught me a lot about sound in film today and I loved learning about it.

Monday, February 2nd

Today was our first day in film class and we didn’t waste a second of it. Ms. Wong immediately gave us a sheet with a list of tasks we had to complete in groups. I was in a group with Sarah Pemberton, Adrian Wan and Catherine Dennig. I think we worked extremely well together and filmed lots of shots. I found the scavenger hunt really interesting and I learned a lot about how colour and the steadiness of the camera effects the footage and what feeling is conveyed to the audience.  I think today I was a risk-taker because I was able to approach many unfamiliar situations with confidence.
